The festival and walk is coordinated by the efforts of WNY Coalition of Peace-Justice-Nonviolence Advocates, including WNY Peace Center, Pax Christi of WNY, NYers Against Gun Violence, Network of Religious Communities, Interfaith Peace Network, Sr. Karen Center and more than 115 partners.
Following Martin Luther King Jr.’s, Sister Karen Klimczak’s, and others’ living examples of nonviolence (to reduce poverty, racism and violence in all its forms, including to the environment), the Coalition is striving to support those struggling to end to violence in our neighborhoods, in our cultures and around the world.
This festival and peacewalk will help to shed a light on the need for the community to come together to promote local and global peace initiatives. It’s time to not only curb violence, but openly address racism, Islamophobia, misogyny, poverty, war, gun violence and the destruction of our Mother Earth.
