Save the date of Sunday, October 23 for the 14th Annual Female Musicians Fighting Breast Cancer Benefit (FMFBCB). The benefit concert is held each year at The Sportsmens Tavern on Amherst Street.
FMFBCB was founded by Buffalo bass player Ida Goeckel, who is also a two time breast cancer survivor. The concert is her way to raise money to fight cancer, while raising awareness of the plight that cancer-stricken patients face. It’s also a way for the community to come together to listen to some of the best musicians around, who are also dedicated to the cause. Funds raised at the event are dedicated to WNY Breast Resource Center (support and information center at Roswell Park Cancer Institute).
Four local acts, all featuring female members, will be donating their talent to perform from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
- Jazzy sounds of Jazzline featuring the incomparable Jennie Jones on sax
- Followed by up and coming powerhouse funky blues singer, Einat Agmon
- The Grateful Dans (guess what they play) featuring the lovely Amy Svensson on flute
- Culminating with our headliner, the ever popular and talented vocalist, Sue Kincaid, and her band of veteran Buffalo Music Hall of Famers!
