10th Annual Men Who Cook

On Tuesday, October 4, a few of this city’s talented amateur male chefs will be matched together with some of our finest restaurants. These amateur chefs are known as movers and shakers in our community – people who have contributed their time and energy to bettering this city. Now these men will be coming together at Statler City to cook alongside a number of the city’s most celebrated professionals. The funds raised at the event will go toward helping to create awareness and boost resources for Crisis Services.

  • Live music throughout the evening courtesy of The Black and Blues Acoustic Trio
  • A wine wall
  • Basket raffle (all baskets valued at $100 minimally)
  • A LeVian diamond ring raffle (valued at $2,500)
  • Silent auction
  • VIP section hosted by Kevin LoVullo – new this year
  • Amateur chef competition judged by Christa Glennie Seychew of Nickel City Chef – new this year

A few of the 13 amateur chefs include: Lt. David Mann of the Buffalo Police Department SOS; Dr. Anthony Billittier, UB|MD Emergency Medicine, Fr. Paul Seil, pastor at St. Bernadette Church; Chief Dave Zack of Cheektowaga Police Department; and many others.

A few of the ten participating local restaurants include: The Left Bank, Ilio DiPaolos, Llyod Taco Factory, Deerhead Lakeside Restaurant & Bar, Ballyhoo Links & Drinks, Platter’s Chocolates and Fairycakes Cupcakery.

Some of the menu items include: a Braised Short Rib Risotto; Beef Brisket Slider with Gingered Slaw and Candied Jalapenos; Homemade Manicotti with Chicken, Artichokes & Spinach; Chipotle Apple Sausage Slider w/ Whiskey Bacon Jam: Roasted Squash Soup with Candied Pumpkin Seeds; and Korean BBQ Ribs. Also new this year is a craft cocktail station, manned by Tim Stevens of Ballyhoo Restaurant.

Tickets are $60 a person, or $110 a pair. With ticket purchase, complimentary valet parking is included as well as two free drink tickets.
