Can you believe what’s going on with the comedy circuit in Buffalo? Maybe Buffalo was down and out for so long that even comedians were depressed. But that all appears to have changed now – comedians are popping out of the woodwork left and right, with shows around each and every corner. From the pros to the up and comers, numerous venues are giving funny guys and gals a stage and a stage light to perform.
Now Buffalo’s very own John Lockwood is throwing his funny hat into the ring, along with a gaggle of other rib-ticklers. The comedy troupe will be performing a comedy showcase at The Tralf on Saturday, September 10, 2016.
A line-up of some of the city’s fastest rising comedians, culled from back rooms of bars and teeny coffee shops throughout the city of Buffalo, at the 400-seat Tralf Music Hall.
“To try something so big and unprecedented is pretty ambitious – which is right up my alley,” explains Lockwood. “I saw a need for a more professional level of [local] comedy in Buffalo. There is a lot of talent that is being underused and a tremendous amount of people in Buffalo don’t or barely know that comedy exists here. I want to change that. And, let’s face it, most people in the comedy scene are great artists but not great business people. Having a successful business before becoming a comedian puts me in a unique position to make it happen.”
These are some of the best comics in the city but also ones you probably haven’t had a chance to see before.
