A new healthy food option is coming to Canalside. Jessie and Kelly Pegula will be opening a healthy quick-service restaurant called The Healthy Scratch. The Healthy Scratch will be located at the corner of Main and Perry streets, and is scheduled to open this fall. The healthy menu options will be a first for the waterfront. The entire menu is designed to provide quick, healthy food for those looking for fresh, high-quality, organic ingredients.
“Kelly and I have been deeply inspired by our parents’ success in a large number of business ventures,” Jessie Pegula said. “Their hard work, passion and success has inspired us to pursue our own endeavor. We believe that a healthy diet has an overwhelming impact on your quality of life. We want to share our passion with our customers and help everyone to lead a healthy lifestyle.”
Both Jessie and Kelly will have dedicated roles in bringing the eatery to fruition.
Jessie will ensure that the menu is equipped with options that include fresh cold pressed juices, salads, wraps, and overnight oatmeal. Jessie’s six year stint as a professional tennis player will allow her to engage with various sports industries to develop the products that will be sold. Kelly’s business and marketing studies will see her heading up the design, marketing and sales of apparel and branded merchandise that will be included in the business roll out. Products will include water bottles and natural beauty products, as well as New Era’s 59FIFTY and 39THIRTY caps.
“We couldn’t be more excited to open this restaurant in Buffalo,” Kelly said. The continuing growth of the Canalside district has made our waterfront an extremely exciting location. The development of this region, recent trends in the health food industry, and our passion for both has made this venture all the more meaningful for us.”
The Healthy Scratch will be opening inside the former Modern Nostalgia storefront.
