Each year, Dog Ears Bookstore organizes a kids’ foot race that promotes two very important initiatives – reading and living a healthy lifestyle. By combining a love of reading with a running race, the kids are energized on both fronts.
The annual Kids “I Read It” Run takes place on Sunday, September 25 at the Cazenovia Park Casino. Dog Ears Bookstore is a non-profit entity that seeks to promote the activity of reading. The book store is constantly drumming up new ways to get books into the hands of children. This race goes beyond reading, and introduces the importance of health and sportsmanship.
Following are the age brackets and start times:
Ages 4 and 5 at 10 a.m.
Ages 6 and 7 at 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8-10 at 11 a.m.

The pre-registration cost is $10, with registrations due by September 21. Please contact the bookstore for details. The cost is $12 on the day of the race. There will also be plenty of prizes and surprises for participants.
