Rumble #3 @ The Body Shop

The 2016 Rumble in the Rust Belt is scheduled to be held at the city’s newest and largest strip club – The Body Shop. The Body Shop is a brand new $500K gentlemen’s club located at 1285 William Street in Buffalo. The club was formerly a US postal sorting facility.

Today The Body Shop is open for business, and is attracting synergistic events such as this rumble.

The rumble was formerly held on Mohawk Street, but organizer and host Mark Miremont (pin-up photographer and DJ) felt that the vibe and location of the gentlemen’s club was prime for what he wanted to accomplish. This year’s rumble will feature hotrods (4pm to 9pm), pin-up girls, DJ, notable photographers, and the band Surfin’ Cadavers (6pm). Special guests/entertainment includes burlesque by Portuguese hellcat Bunny Lisbon (8pm) and pin-striping by legendary Von Straus & Queen City Stripes.

Inside, The Body Shop is covered in proper pinup photography and old school pinstriping. Even the DJ booth is an early 60’s Cadillac.

“I moved the rumble to The Body Shop this year,” noted Miremont. “Because: (1) the venue had more safe parking for cars and bikes; (2) the venue was so into the idea that they allowed me to put it all together with NO COVER CHARGE; (3) the owner gets the culture – inside, The Shop is covered in proper pinup photography and old school pinstriping… even the DJ booth is an early 60’s Cadillac; (4) the crowd will get to see The Surfin’ Cadavers perform outside with the cars and (5) if you want to have a beer outside, you can do that too.”

This event is 21 years and over. There is no cover charge. The event will take place outside of The Body Shop, with plenty of food and drinks.
