Pine Apple Company to open on Allen Street

An artists consortium of sorts is opening on Allen Street. Pine Apple Company is comprised of a number of creative types that deal in apparel, fine art originals, fine art prints, accessories and gifts. Some of the biggest names in the local art world will be represented at the store/gallery. The core group of shop artists is Thomas James Holt, Yames Moffitt, Esther Neisen, Mickey Harmon, Mike West, and Sarah Liddell.

It all began about 2-3 years ago, even further before that,” said Mickey Harmon. “Tom Holt really, it’s his baby. But, a bunch of us jerks would get together and just draw (and not draw) and talk shop and not shop once a week. So the universe finally aligned and GLOW Gallery was out, so being in a position from curating for PRISM for LOOP magazine in the same shared space (separated by a stairwell to the apts above) I approached Mikey Rizzo with Tom about the possibility of renting the store front.”

And the rest, as they say, is history. Allentown will be landing a dynamic new gallery, with loads of art and graphic related merchandise and services.

“We are really excited to bring some unique flavor to the west end of Allen,” mentioned Holt. “To balance the great work Indigo and Studio Hart are doing on the east end of Allen. Essentially we are offering a gallery/gift shop/ and services. Aside from out own wares, we will have a featured artist wall with rotating curated work from local artists. We ourselves will have apparel, prints, original art, stuffed animals, etc. I started doing graphics with a small skateboard company out of NYC and we will be a reseller for their brand Estilo SkateboardsServices would include sign painting by Yames. Graphic design services from Sarah, Mickey, and Mike West. Art framing and other things from myself.”

Check out a glimpse of what’s to come here.
