East Side Momentum Tour

There are a number of exciting projects and initiatives taking place on the East Side these days. Similar to what happened to the West Side, years ago, there is a spark of a movement that will draw people to look for opportunities. Already a number of urban farms have proliferated in various pockets of the East Side. A number of inspiring businesses have also sprung up.

From yarnbombing and the “None Like You/We Care” community group, to Farmer Pirates creating urban farms and ArtFarms placing public art, there’s excitement in the air. Gardens, parks, and a Buddhist community center garden, round out the series of seven stops on this tour.

From Artfarms to The Foundry, there are people digging in and planting roots. These roots are taking hold and opening doors for others to join together to create another new frontier that is unique in its own way.

On Saturday, August 13, from 9am to 1pm, the community is invited to tour some of these inspirational East Side projects. Project organizers will be stationed at each stop, to talk about their successes to date.

Pick-up site: Flying Bison Brewing Company, 840 Seneca St, Buffalo

Cost: $25, includes round-trip transportation, tour guides, and tip; water, and snacks.

For more information, and to reserve and purchase tickets, visit East Side Momentum.

Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
