If you’ve ever attended an event like Music is Art, then you know that there are a lot of Buffalo artists out there that love to make creepy characters, dolls, toys, effigies, and the like. One such artist, who has been making Elvis-inspired creature busts for years is artist/tattooist Derek Hendrickson. A number of these busts can be seen at bars around town – his outrageous busts include Hellvis, Aquavelvis, and Elvistein… the list goes on.
Now Derek has enlisted a number of his macabre friends who make creepy tiki creations, to show at his tattoo studio – INK Ink. On Saturday, August 20, from 7pm to midnight-ish, “A cavalcade of creepy carniverous creations” will be on display at the Creepy Tiki Headhunter Art Show. This will be your chance to stock up on some bizarre finds, all made by local artists.
Derek and his friends will await your arrival, to a show that will be unlike any other. Featuring interpretations of the creepy tiki/headhunter, the Creepy Tiki Headhunter Art Show will be dark and gruesome – a perfect escape from a summer that has been all too bright and cheery.
