The other morning I received an email from Barbara J. Irwin, Ph.D., Co-Director of the Canisius College Video Institute. She reminded me of a discussion that we had earlier in the spring.
Each year, students at the institute are tasked with producing short video documentaries of their choosing – videos that showcase a grassroots organization, a cause, a victory, a problem, the solution… an aspect of the city that could benefit from being highlighted in a documentary style light. These videos revolve around social justice or a selfless cause.
The class of 2016 will once again be looking for worthy recipients that are hoping to have a short promotional video produced pro bono.
If you’re working on a community project of this nature, and would like to present it as a possible video option for the students to work on in 2016-17, you can send me an email to newell@buffalorising.com.
The three videos featured on this post were all produced by students at the Canisius College Video Institute.
