McGuire Development Company is having a good week. Now the commercial development, brokerage and property management firm has inked a deal with Bak USA to expand its presence at Compass East, 425 Michigan Avenue, Buffalo. Bak USA will be taking on an additional 10,000 sq. ft. of space on the fourth floor, along with an added 8,000 sq. ft. on the lower level. This is big news for BAK USA, a company that is still relatively new to Buffalo and growing at a rapid pace.
“We’re excited about the expansion of Bak USA because it’s one of Buffalo’s many success stories,” stated James Dentinger, president of McGuire Development Company. “Assisting them with their real estate needs as they continue to enhance Buffalo’s economic culture has been a pleasure.”
Bak USA chose Buffalo as an ideal city to build its line of mobile computers for a number of reasons, including the available workforce. Earlier this year, the mobile computer manufacturer teamed up with Microsoft to builds it Windows 10 operating system into its laptops and PCs.
The Compass East building was formerly Sheehan Hospital, which was repurposed to commercial space in 2013. The first tenant to sign on was Time Warner, occupying 50,000 sq.ft. of first-floor space with its East Coast Business Class Services hub.
