In advance of voting on November 8th, Ani DiFranco is organizing a music and comedy festival at Babeville. The festival is designed to get people thinking about voting, the direction of the US, world affairs, social justice, the environment, and everything else that will be affected by casting a vote (local and national).
DiFranco is currently on the road promoting her “Vote Dammit!” campaign.
Alongside DiFranco will be social activists Lizz Winstead, a progressive feminist comedian – one of the founders of the Daily Show – and Chastity Brown, who is an American singer-songwriter-musician.
DiFranco notes, “Let us invent more forums in which to inspire and organize ourselves. Let us enter, nay, invade politics! From all sides and in all ways! For instance: Vote Dammit! – let’s start there!”
