It should come as no surprise that we live around half an hour from one of the 50 Most Beautiful Places in America. In fact, Condé Nast Traveler puts Niagara Falls at #5 (see here). That’s pretty awesome for Buffalo, considering the short distance. It’s also a reminder that we need to capitalize on this distinction. Millions upon millions of tourists visit The Falls each year.
The Canadian side is far and beyond more popular than the American side, but not matter which side outweighs the other, they should both be looked at as marketing opportunities. Since the mega-region is considered TorBuffChesterTon Falls (Toronto, Buffalo, Rochester, Hamilton, and The Falls), we need to be aggressively capitalizing on our region’s bounty.
How about getting an old fashioned commuter train that takes visitors back and forth throughout the day? Buffalonians would take advantage of the service, which would virtually connect the two cities.
