Art Alive is an event like no other in Buffalo. Put on by the Albright-Knox, Art Alive is a mash-up between art lovers and the magnificent works of art found within the gallery. The event was held this past weekend, and WNY Media videographer Marc Odien was on hand to capture the magic that unfolded all around.
Each of the living recreations, called tableaux, that you see in the video below began to take shape in January. Each team worked towards creating its own life-size rendition of a famous work or art, literally bringing the work to life.
Prizes are given out for the following three categories: Grades K–8, Grades 9–12, and Adult/Family/Group. Awards are based on craftsmanship, originality and myriad other considerations. There’s also a People’s Choice Award. See below for breakdown of 2016 awards.
Videographer: Marc Odien – Founder, Publisher and Managing Director of WNYMedia.net and Buffalo.fm. A Graduate of Saint Joseph’s Collegiate and Niagara University, Marc is an award winning photojournalist with over twenty years of news experience in radio, television and web based multimedia.
