Gateway Longview and Buffalo Iron Works are gearing up for the 8th Annual BBQ & Blues Bash, presented by Ellicott Development Co., this Friday, June 17, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Illinois Street in the Historic Cobblestone District next to First Niagara Center. WIVB News 4 Wake Up! anchor Jordan Williams and Lauren Hall, Multimedia Journalist at Pegula Sports & Entertainment, will emcee the event. Proceeds benefit over 3,600 Western New York children and families receiving support from Gateway Longview, an agency focused on special education, behavioral health, community supports, and residential services for youth.
Nearly 1,000 tickets to the region’s premier blues event have already been sold with tickets still available at the door. The outdoor concert and barbecue food-fest will feature an all-local blues lineup, including Tommy Z Band, The Hayden Fogle Band, and CDR Trio, followed by Dirty Smile who will headline the official after-party at Buffalo Iron Works (49 Illinois Street). Award-winning barbecue will be provided by local favorites Fat Bob’s Smokehouse, BW’s Smokin’ Barrels Barbecue, Big Belly BarBeQue, and BABZ BBQ. Western New York favorites Sweet Melody’s Gelato and Wheatberry Bake Shop will provide one-of-a-kind desserts.
“This important event gets bigger every year and Buffalo is taking notice,” said Josh Holtzman, Manager of Buffalo Iron Works and long-time supporter of the event. “For eight years, the community has stepped up to support local children and families. From the vendors and guests to the bands and emcees- everyone is proud to get behind a great cause and impact their community in such an important way.”
Festivities will take place rain or shine. Free parking is available in the First Niagara Center ramp for all event attendees. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs for the first come first serve seating area. The 21+ event is presented by Ellicott Development Co. and sponsored by Try-It Distributing, The Buffalo Sabres, Savarino Companies, Buffalo Iron Works, The Buffalo News, Barefoot Wine & Spirits, LVW Advisors, 97 Rock, JW Danforth, Nottingham Advisors, I-Evolve Technologies, Merchants Insurance, EBC Payroll, Proforma Total Business Solutions, Freed Maxick CPAs, and Walsh Duffield. Sponsorship packages are still available with all proceeds benefiting the Gateway Longview Foundation, which directly impacts Western New York children and families served by the agency.
Tickets are on sale now for $20 presale donation or $25 donation at the event. Tickets are limited and can be purchased at www.BBQBluesBash.com or at the Buffalo Iron Works box office. Ticket includes entertainment and refreshments from Labatt, Barefoot Wine & Bubbly and other local distributors. Food tickets sold separately at the event with a portion of the sales donated to Gateway Longview Foundation.
