A new farmer’s market is coming to town, in an area of the city that could really use some fresh produce and wholesome food offerings. With an inaugural opening of Saturday July 16, farm and food vendors are still welcome to apply to the Main Amherst Fillmore Market (MAF Market).
Raw food vendors are our primary desire however we are also eager to have non-food vendors as well.
Instead of charging for space at the market, organizers are asking that vendors (with valid tax and insurance info) provide $20 in vouchers that would be distributed throughout the community – a fair deal if you ask me.
All interested vendors please contact Vinny at mafmarketbuffalo@gmail.com.
Main Amherst Fillmore Market (MAF Market) | Inaugural opening Saturday July 16, 2016 | Parking lot of International Wine and Spirits | 2580 Main St. Buffalo, NY 14214.
This market looks to serve a population underserved by fresh food operations and social gathering outfits. The Main/Amherst/Fillmore area has no easy access to a super market or anything larger than a corner bodega. These rarely offer butter, milk, or bread let alone vegetables or fruits. The closest markets to the are Dash’s at Hertel and Vorhees to the northwest (1 mile), an Asian specialty store An Chau at Bailey and Lasalle to the east (1.7 miles), and Imperial Food Market at Kensington and Davidson to the southeast (1.6 miles), all outside of a sensible walking distance. Please come and except the gratitude of the Main Amherst Fillmore neighborhood.
