Kangoo Craze Comes to Buffalo

1399165_509052129191365_307323759_oA relatively new exercise craze is gaining ground in Buffalo. It’s called Kangoo. Kangoo is a brand name for a style of springy rebound shoes. When walking on Kangoo enhanced shoes, people literally have a spring to their step. Judy Siniscalchi, owner of Garage Fitness Studio, was one of the first to bring the device to Buffalo. “I brought Kangoo to the Western New York region last year in April,” Judy said. “Kangoo Jumps started in the mid 1990s – in Switzerland. The original purpose for the invention was a recreation device for athletes recovering from leg injuries. In 2000s is when they developed the aerobic style of Kangoo.”

Kangoo Jumps are now making appearances at Canalside, during Free Fitness Fun every Monday at 6pm. The event series is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York. Anyone can join in on the fun.”Kangoo Jumps are safe, low impact rebound sport shoes,” Judy continued.  “They provide many great health benefits, for everyone, any age. They are so much fun you’ll forget you’re exercising!”

A pretty solid crew of people have been participating in the Canalside Kangoo Jumps sessions, which is a telltale sign that Garage Fitness Studio (located in Alden, NY) is onto something. “[Aside from Canalside) we offer Kangoo at our studio, and we also offer overnight boot rentals,” said Judy.

The next time that you’re looking to get your body moving to the groove, consider popping a pair of Kangoo Jumps onto your feet. From the smiles on the faces of those who have tried them, you may never want to take them off.
