On Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26, The Sportsmens Tavern will be ‘stepping out’ for a spell. On that day, a number of the venue’s top affiliated Americana bands will be coming together to play a highly anticipated festival at Riverside Park.
The impressive two-day talent line-up (two festivals in one) includes Tom Hambridge and the Rattlesnakes, Commander Cody Band, Bill Kirchen and Too Much Fun, The Willies Ten Cent Howl, The Steam Donkeys, Leroy Townes, McCarthyism, Uncle Ben’s Remedy, Flatbed and The Kensingtons.
Americana music fans are not going to want to miss this show.
Americana is so strong in Buffalo that SAM has produced a pilot for a TV show called “Live From Black Rock”.
Buffalo has such strong Americana roots. Sportsmens American Music Foundation (SAM) was recently established to promote this city’s Americana music heritage, and to secure its future as an Americana stronghold.
Grammy award-winning producer and five-time Grammy nominated singer/songwriter/drummer Tom Hambridge (Buffalo born) continues to be recognized as one of this city’s finest Americana talents who still has close ties to the iconic Sportsmens Tavern on Amherst Street in Black Rock. Lucky for us, Hambridge will be back in town, playing alongside other hometown Americana music heroes.
