Hilton Garden Inn is doing its part to add life to Main Street. Hotel management has created a first floor café with patio, to supplement its second floor restaurant during the warmer months.
The first floor Patio Bar + Grille is a great addition to the street. Yesterday I stopped in to grab a menu, and to inquire about the hotel’s eatery operations. I was curious as to how the new first floor bar and grille would function, since there was also an established restaurant above it called Garden Grille and Bar.
I was told that the restaurant on the second floor would only serve breakfast, and would leave lunch and dinner to the seasonal first floor operation. Then, come fall, the upper Garden Grille and Bar would go back to serving all meals. It’s a smart move actually, especially because passersby can now see that there is a full fledge restaurant within the building.
Menu items include a garden quesadilla, Mediterranean sampler, applewood bacon & bleu cheese fries, wings of the world, traditional Caesar, flatbreads, classic burger, hummus wrap, garden burger, chipotle steak wrap, beef on weck, Pan Asian ribs, fish & chips, grilled tuna and a bevy of desserts. There’s even a kid’s menu. Beverages include draught beer, wine and cocktails.
The added exposure street-side is a welcome touch, which should prove to be a good business decision for the hotel. Being a part of the building activity on Main Street is key. Not only does the new restaurant addition and patio offer a handy convenience to downtown workers and dwellers, it also looks sharp. This section of Main Street desperately needed this sort of open air addition.
Now, if I could just figure out a way to get into the pool without actually booking a room at the hotel…
