Forest Lawn Cemetery – Monday Music in the Meadow

At 7pm today, Forest Lawn Cemetery is launching its 2016 two-part series – Monday Music in the Meadow. The outdoor music series is held next to the historic chapel, surrounded by some of the city’s most beautiful, pristine natural surroundings. Visitors are welcome to arrive by foot, bike or car. For those arriving by bike, this is a wonderful opportunity to take in the scenic surroundings of the cemetery, before settling into a live musical performance. Be sure to bring a blanket and/or a comfy chair.

On Monday, June 27, we are proud to feature Van Taylor & Friends presenting “Music on the Front Lines… Serving Music to Those Who Served.”  A pre Fourth of July patriotic concert honoring the many veterans that chose Forest Lawn as their permanent resting place.  During this concert you will not only enjoy some wonderful and uplifting music bit you will hear stories of some of the veterans buried at Forest Lawn.

Then on Monday, July 25, we are proud to feature Canal Street String Band presenting Music From the Erie Canal Era.  Local storyteller and musician Dave Ruch and his band will entertain you with music and stories that will reveal what life was like life in the early days of the Buffalo. Learn about  some of the people, who are of course buried at Forest Lawn, that help build and develop what is now known as the Queen City of New York State.

No alcoholic beverages are allowed. Gates of the cemetery close at 7pm.  Enter before 7 and follow the white line painted in the road to the Chapel. (If you arrive after 7 pm, come to the Delaware Ave gate and you will be let in.)  The concert begins at 7:30pm in the gazebo of the Forest Lawn meadow located near the Chapel.

Tickets are $10 and are available at http://www.forest-lawn.com/events
