Steel framing is going up at Canterbury Woods Gates Circle. The $41 million building will offer 53 independent-living apartments upon completion. It will be a mix of terra cotta, brick, limestone and glass and is expected to be completed in fall of 2017. Lecesse Construction is general contractor and Architectural Resources designed the building.
In 1999, Canterbury Woods in Amherst was the first senior living community in Western New York to offer a life care continuum and is sponsored by Episcopal Church Home & Affiliates.
The timeline for additional construction on the rest of the site owned by TM Montante Development remains uncertain. A mix of residential, office and retail space is planned.
