Don’t miss out on this month’s open mic, spoken word at the EM Tea Coffee Cup Café in Hamlin Park, taking place this Saturday, May 21st from 8pm to 10pm. There is always a great turn out and many talented people take the stage throughout the night. Food and drinks will be available before and during the show. The event is a non-competitive forum that allows all levels of poetic finesse to share.
Proprietors, Wil and Kat Tyler along with Kat’s son Sterling, run the day-to-day operations and have recently remodeled for an even cozier venue. In addition to their fantastic offerings, the café hosts live music as often as possible.
The family owned and operated business has been serving up great coffee and delicious food in Hamlin Park for nearly 15 years and provides a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. It’s the kind of place where if you go enough, the regulars and the employees know you by name.
Sterling’s loaded chicken hoagie is top rate. The walls are lined with coffee mugs from all over the country. The café is located just down the street from Canisius College. Stop on in for some food, a cup of coffee, and a lively open mic. Once you stop in, you’ll want to keep coming back.
