On Monday, May 30, 2016, the West Side Rowing Club invites everyone to come down to cheer on the local crew teams in a 1,500-meter time trial event that starts early morning and lasts throughout the afternoon. This is the perfect holiday getaway, down by the water, to witness some exciting crew races that are all part of the club’s Fontana All-High City Championships Regatta.
Not only will there be some great racing, and idyllic views upon the water, visitors to the regatta will be inspired by the West Side Rowing Club campus that consists of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Fontana Boathouse and the Doc Schaab Boathouse. Come sit on the great lawn, near the Peace Bridge, and relax at a site that has become home to countless rowers, over 100 shells, 400 feet of dock, 20,000+ square feet of indoor training space and the only indoor rowing tank in the region.
Traditional Memorial Day Events begin at 8:00 am and continue throughout the afternoon.
