This event might not be until August, but organizers are hoping to get the word out well in advance of the scheduled date. A large-scale drumming festival is being planned in Delaware Park, and the drumming community is being put on high alert.
Smaller drum circles are everywhere these days, that’s true. But in recent years Drum Circles of WNY has been expanding upon the idea of the drum collective by promoting one inspirational day of drumming. In year’s past, the event has been growing steadily. Last year was the largest drum circle to date.
Music really does bring people together! A bride, groom and entire wedding party joined in the dancing for a bit, then visitors from London and China joined in various ways – drumming, pictures, videos, smiles and hugs all around!
While the drum circle event might be far away, Drum Circles of WNY is hoping to inspire people early on, in order to make the event a huge success that attracts drummers from far and wide. Drums Along Hoyt Lake will coincide with the Buffalo Infringement Festival. This will be the fourth year that hand drummers will gather together to drum and dance.
Last year’s drum circle attracted over a hundred people and lasted over four hours. In its fourth year, the plan is to boost the momentum, making 2016 the year to remember.
Mark your calendar, spread the word, get your hand drum in solid working order, and get ready to participate in a drum circle like no other.
