Steel is rising at two infill office projects downtown. In the West Village, Evergreen Health is constructing a five-story addition to its Roanoke Building headquarters at 206 S. Elmwood Avenue. On W. Tupper Street, Uniland Development has a three-story office building underway.
Designed by Rochester’s SWBR Architects, Evergreen’s $11 million building is replacing a parking lot behind the historic Roanoke Building. It fronts W. Chippewa Street across from Hutch Tech High School. The expansion will double the size of the health facility and accommodate the substantial growth Evergreen has experienced over the last three years, providing new office space for the agency’s primary care practice, pharmacy, and numerous other supportive health services.
520 Ellicott Street is located south of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and is being constructed on the former Frey the Wheelman service center. The 24,000 sq.ft, three-story office building will offer an exclusive surface parking lot with 52 dedicated spaces, a covered drop-off area at the primary public entrance located on the south side of the building, and an entrance along W. Tupper Street. Uniland is marketing the space to professional service providers and healthcare-related practices. Buffalo Dialysis has leased the ground floor of the building. The building was designed by Uniland’s internal Planning and Design architects.
