Aprile Millo, The legendary world renowned MET soprano whom the New York Times has called “the last of the golden age sopranos”, is coming to Buffalo for one night only . This special event takes on June 17 at 8:00 PM at Kleinhans Music Hall.
Millo was adored by her close friend Luciano Pavarotti, which is clear as he would gleam at her with pure joy when she joined him on stage. To hear her sing is like being taken back to the golden ages of opera. Even if you’re not an opera aficionado, this is a must do on your bucket list.
Miss Millo lives up to her reputation as our leading Verdi soprano, whom many believed Verdi himself, would have chosen personally, to fulfill his musical vision. “Her voice with her warm lower register, thrilling us, pouring out reams of expansive tone” said Opera Magazine.
Also appearing are special guest artists:
Dr. Mary-Lou Vetere, who has a Ph.D in Music from University at Buffalo, and is a performer, historian and educator.
Karen D’Angelo, a native of Lockport, NY, has been singing since high school, and has been studying more recently with Dr. Vetere, and Ms. Millo.
Tenor Joel Ricci, will also perform. He is from nearby Hamilton, On.
Musicians include Merynda Adams on Irish Harp, and Accordion legend Boris Borgstrom.
This special engagement will be performed in loving memory of Randolph Mickelson, Ryan Purcell, and Karen D’Angelo’s son Trevor D’Angelo.
This performance will take you on a magical journey that will stay with you forever.
