Sign of the Times: Holiday Inn Express & Suites

A second building at the corner of Main and Chippewa streets has new signage. The Comfort Suites hotel is now a Holiday Inn Express & Suites. It is kitty-corner to 50 Fountain Plaza and its new Lippes Mathias signs.

Visions Hotels owns the 146-room seven-story hotel that has had three prior brandings. The Consentino Cos. opened the hotel in 1991 as a Journey’s End Suites hotel. It switched to a Radisson Suites in 1994 and a Comfort Suites in 2004.

Holiday Inn Express is part of the InterContinental Hotels Group encompassing nine brands and 4,900 hotels in nearly 100 countries. There are currently over 2,400 Holiday Inn Express hotel locations around the globe.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
