Forefront – Featuring 19th, 20th and 21st century works

7awfqwfrqwrfThe former home of Margaret Martin will become a bit of a pop-up gallery from Thursday April 28 to May 1, 2016. The historic house will be the setting of original works of art created by women with affiliations to Buffalo. Part of the excitement surrounding this event is the highly anticipated curated show, while the other is the fabulous mystique of the interior of 78 Summer Street (see dated Zillow listing).

To kick off the show, a catered cocktail party will be held on Thursday from 6pm to 9pm. The show will wrap up with a Meet the Artists and Curators Brunch on Sunday, starting at 11am.

The weekend long exhibit, featuring 19th, 20th and 21st century works, will come and go before you know it.

Forefront | 78 Summer Street Buffalo, NY

Forefront is curated by Resource: Art, a curatorial venture between gallerists Anna Kaplan (BT&C Gallery), Elisabeth Samuels (Indigo Art) and Emily Tucker (Benjaman Contemporary).

The cost for the event is $65 per person and $100 for couples. Proceeds from ticket sales and a percentage of the sales of fine art will go to benefit Youth Programming at the YWCA of WNY.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
