Buffalo Bike Month is right around the corner, starting in May. That means that organizations all over the region are planning their bike themed activities starting May 1.
To get things started, GObike Buffalo and Sugar City are planning to host an exhibit called Velo Visions, which will feature bike-related artwork. That means that bikes might actually be deconstructed and rebuilt into sculptures. Or an artist might create a painting with bike imagery. Even a poem, or an audio sound clip would be eligible, as long as bikes were the focal point.
Bicycle-loving artists and artistically inclined bicyclists are asked to submit two to three digital images or a written concept to nate@gobikebuffalo.org by April 28. Drop-off dates will be arranged for April 29 through May 3 at Sugar City. The exhibition will be on view at Sugar City (1239 Niagara St) from May 6 to May 29, with a closing reception on Thursday, May 26, from 7:30 to 9:30pm. Gallery hours are Fridays 5:30 to 7:30pm, during all events, and by appointment.
