Buffalo Porchfest – Spring 2016

I love Buffalo PorchFest. There’s something to be said about riding around the West Side on bikes, with backpacks full of beers and food, looking for the best porches, filled with your favorite local musicians. It’s simply magical. Over the years, I’ve mapped out my routes… to the best of my ability. It can be hard to stay on track when each porch is so interesting and dynamic. Other years I simply wing it, searching for the sounds as they emanate from street to street.

PorchFest is headed up by the Elmwood Village Association. The event takes place in the spring, and in the fall. The event gives musicians a chance to play on their home turf. It also gives proud homeowners the ability to do something great for their respective neighborhoods. The event has become a Buffalo staple in the pantheon of seemingly never-ending festivals.
