Gov. Cuomo Announces $40 Million Towards RMP Removal in Niagara Falls

Gov. Andrew Cuomo Announces $40 Million Towards Robert Moses Parkway North Segment Removal

Today was a big day for residents and officials of Niagara Falls as Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that more than $40 million will be allocated for the removal of the Robert Moses Parkway North segment that has long disconnected neighborhoods from the city’s greatest asset, the waterfront along the Niagara Gorge. For decades its been widely acknowledged the parkway was a gaping urban planning mistake but has never drawn the financial backing needed to reverse the disconnect and restore access back to the waterfront. With improvements in Niagara Falls State Park and reconfiguration of the Robert Moses Parkway South coming along, the removal of the north section is next step towards truly recapturing Niagara’s waterfront.
