Dyngus Day Buffalo is celebrating its tenth year. Over the last decade, the festival/celebration has managed to capture the heart, the imagination and the spirit of the city. From starting off as a relatively obscure event, to becoming a rallying cry for Polonia on the city’s East Side, Dyngus Day continues to build momentum each and every year.
Dyngus Day always falls on the Monday after Easter. In 2016, Dyngus Day will take place on Monday, March 28th. Activities in the Buffalo-Niagara region have expanded to one week of events.
In 2016, Dyngus Day will be stretching its legs a bit. The celebration has now hit parts of the West Side and Allentown – see Pussy Willow Pass below. The pass is a whirlwind tour that takes revelers from authentic food destinations, to live music venues, and to the highly anticipated parade.
It’s time once again to grab a squirt gun, some pussy willows, a Tyskie and a butter lamb or two, and get into the spirit of Easter, Polonia and spring.
