On Friday, April 1, the Buffalo BookBike will be unveiled at Resurgence Brewing Company. The Buffalo BookBike is handcrafted bike, made right here in the city by Nickel City Cycles and Adam Ianni. The bike is outfitted with a carrying system that allows the rider to travel with books throughout the city. This summer, the books will be delivered to kids, who will begin to associate the cool ride with reading resources. Best of all, the books are free!
The Buffalo BookBike unveiling will feature an adult tricycle relay race, a basket raffle, bookmark-making activities, and roller derby girls. WNY Book Arts Center will also be on-hand, silk-screening t-shirts on site for literacy supporters and bike enthusiasts. The event is free and open to the public.
