Buffalo Rising has officially launched its podcasting channel. Right off the bat, BRO has teamed up with Buffalo On Air, which is a podcasting initiative broadcasted out of the Hydraulic Hearth in Larkinville.
The first podcast duo to be featured on Buffalo Rising under the Buffalo On Air audio umbrella is B-LO the Headline. B-LO the Headline is a discourse between hosts Joe Doherty and David Scott Myers, and a ‘weekly’ guest of their choosing. Past guests include Howard Zemsky, Jim Fink and Ryan Connolly. Fortunately for BRO, Doherty and Myers felt that their content meshed with BRO’s mission, which made the media relationship fairly seamless. As the team captures additional content, Buffalo Rising will be posting it as it goes live. Listeners are invited to go back into the audio archive by clicking on BRO’s podcasting channel, and/or look for new broadcasts as they are uploaded. Down the road, BRO will be adding to the podcast repertoire, so stay tuned.
Now let’s get the show on the road. The latest guest to be interviewed by Doherty and Myers is Tim Tielman (listen here).
Tim Tielman is the executive director of the Campaign for Greater Buffalo History, Architecture, and Culture, who also serves as a member of Buffalo’s Preservation Board. He has had a hand in many of Buffalo’s prominent restoration efforts and is one of the city’s most outspoken advocates of preservation. On this episode we discuss the conflict around the Bachelor, Green & Wicks’ threatened apartment building, and Tim talks about the importance of sustainable “urban ecosystems”.
