The proposed Canterbury Woods Gates Circle project has taken a significant step forward. Episcopal Church Home & Affiliates Life Care Community Inc. has purchased the property needed for the project from Gates Circle Holdings LLC for $4,839,943.94 today. We’re not sure how much dirt the $.94 bought.
TM Montante Development was selected to redevelop the 6.7 acre Gates Circle Hospital site in November 2013 with plans for more than 500 residential units, a fitness facility, urban grocery, and retail space.
One of the signature components of the project is the development of a city-based campus for Canterbury Woods, a life care community. Canterbury Woods is planning a six-story, $30 million building, featuring 53 independent living apartments, on the area where the former hospital tower was located. Apartments will range from 800 to 2,000 square feet. Construction is expected to start soon, with the first residents moving into their apartments in late 2017.
