The Buffalo Home Show features a Modular House and Craft Beer

The Buffalo Home Show is returning to the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center on March 4-6 & 11-13, 2016. A visit to the Buffalo Home Show is a great way to learn about the services and supplies of over 300 local companies that are dedicated to home decor and improvements. From outdoor decks, awnings, ponds and lighting, to handy dandy indoor conveniences that can make your house a sensational showplace.

The Buffalo Home Show is two weekends chock full of large scale home renovation projects and loads of helpful DIY projects, all designed to get you off to a clean start this spring.

2016 Home Show features include:

Look no further than the Main Stage for exciting presentations providing practical and innovative information.  Get the scoop from local experts who share their tried-and-true advice and don’t miss our celebrity guests, George Oliphant and Matt Blashaw.

LX TV’s George Oliphant will be at the show March 4-6.  The Emmy Award-winning host will be providing his best tips and tricks to demolish your renovation nightmares.

HGTV and DIY Network’s Matt Blashaw will be at the show March 11-13.  The licensed realtor and contractor will be sharing his expertise on everything from home renovations to garden makeovers that will make your neighbors green with envy.

StyleCraft puts the “mod” in modular with this all-new feature home (lead image).  Stop by to see the 1,000-square foot home built by StyleCraft, designed by the Interior Design Association of WNY and landscaped by Stone Landscape Architecture & A-1 Land Care.  Its high-vaulted ceilings allow for a luxurious, modern feel while also giving the homeowner the small space for which they’ve been searching.  The open floor plan combined with a beautiful wall of windows creates a sprawling living space that extends straight to the outdoors.  Just a few more of this home’s show-stopping features include solar roof shingles, an indoor/outdoor fireplace and an exquisite backyard garden.

It’s Happy Hour at the Home Show on both Friday nights, March 4 and March 11, from 5:30pm-8:30pm.  Stop by the Main Stage area for WEDG’s craft beer tasting extravaganza hosted by Tom Ragan of “Shredd & Ragan” Show.  After all the shopping and browsing at the home show, kick back and test some beers from the local craft beer consortium while also enjoying samples from Battistoni Italian Specialty Meats.

Eight craft beers to sample:

Great Lakes Brewing Co. – Conways Irish Ale, Dortmunder Gold

42 North Brewing Co. – Wit, Porter

Saranac – S’more Porter, Legacy IPA

Flying Bison Brewing Co. – Blizzard Bock, Helldiver

At both craft beer tasting events, 84 Lumber will host “Hammer Races” and a “Couples Home Improvement Challenge.”  For the “Hammer Races,” contestants will be picked from the audience to hammer nails onto a 2×4 – not as easy as it looks!  For the “Couples Home Improvements Challenge,” two couples will be chosen to make flower boxes and the winners will receive a $250 gift card from 84 Lumber.

Is wine more your thing?  Don’t worry, Barefoot Wine will be right across the way with samples, entertaining tips and a new outdoor seating area to rest your tired feet.
