Another retailer will soon be occupying space on the first floor of the Market Arcade building. A storefront is officially converting from office space (Shakespeare in The Park) to retail, and will be accommodating the needs of the Buffalo Barkery in the near future. The Buffalo Barkery was one of the businesses that set up at the 2015-16 Queen City Market (a downtown pop-up). The retailers sell dog toys, leashes, treats, grooming supplies, and even doggie decorated gifts for humans (mugs, frames, etc).
The Buffalo Barkery specializes in homemade dog treats with human grade ingredients. You may have seen them at a farmer’s market, at a local retail store, or at a nearby festival. Some of the hottest selling imprinted dog treat flavors are beef on weck, Buffalo wing, and Buffalove pumpkin. There’s even a treat that looks like Shark Girl!
All of the items found at the Buffalo Barkery are made in the USA, and are handpicked for safety, fun, style, etc.
With the addition of the this retailer to the building’s first floor, there is finally some power in numbers. Once the Expo Market opens, all of these shops will be feeding off of the restaurants, and vice versa. For years, the Market Arcade building was filled with mostly non-profits, which meant that there was not a whole lot of action going on inside. Now, the building is home to a significant retail base, which is just what Main Street and downtown needs.
