“Shuffle off to Buffalo to watch the Leafs”

Buffalo booster and Canadian day trip correspondent Lorne Opler has captured the essence of the Canalside revitalization in a way that will appeal to visitors from the True North. And why not? When you look at the relatively short distance and opportune time travel between Buffalo and Hamilton, and then calculate the high price of Leafs tickets, Buffalo begins to look like an attractive place to spend a hockey weekend.

I bet that if you asked a bunch of Hamiltonians about Canalside, the response would be a set of blank stares. That’s why it’s important to keep feeding the message to our neighbors to the north, that the water is warm and the ice is smooth, in a welcoming city that sits right on its back doorstep.
