Micro Brewed Murder book signing at Dog Ears

Micro-Brewed-Buffalo-NY-1If you’re at all familiar with the Old First Ward, then chances are that you might know Bill Metzger. Bill is publisher of Brewing News (North America’s Regional Beer Newspapers), partner at Old First Ward Brewing at Gene McCarthy’s, future co-owner of Undergrounds Coffee House and Roastery, and all around determined community activist.

Bill’s latest adventure is publishing a work of fiction about a man’s predetermined destiny in the brewing industry called “Micro Brewed Murder“. This is Bill’s first murder mystery, and is a serious departure from his 35 years of writing for Brewing News.

The author will be on hand, signing and discussing his new book, at Dog Ears Bookstore & Café on Wednesday, February 17 from 6 to 8 pm.

After the release of his latest work, Bill has hinted that he will be heading down another brewing path for his next novel release. While he cut his teeth in the beer brewing industry here in Buffalo by opening Old First Ward Brewing, Bill spent the late 70s traveling to Central and South America where he learned the ropes of the coffee trade. Might we see another whodunnit revolving around the Colombian coffee cartel?

Altogether, the brewer and author is under contract to write three books in 2016.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
