As more Buffalonians discover the art of brewing beer, and the deep respect for Buffalo brewed beers, scores of beer geeks are emerging, which is causing a shift in the local beer economy. Each year, beer geeks are invited to a craft brewing celebration like no other. It’s the Buffalo Museum of Science’s super popular Beerology fundraising event, which has sold out every year since it first started in 2008. Tickets just went on sale for this highly coveted sudsy science soirée, which means that people are already scrambling to get tickets.
Those that are lucky enough to attend Beerology come away with a better understanding about the scientific process that goes into brewing the best beers. The event offers home brewing demonstrations and plenty of micro brew tastings. This is a party that attracts those who love beer beyond the taste. Attendees groove out to the process, the magic, the tricks of the trade, and figuring out the ever-allusive problem of consistency.
What are the tools? Who’s home brewing? What’s the hottest beer? What are the costs, and the steps? Many of these questions are answered by the top home brewers in the region, while partying in a surreal scientific setting.
