The Thomas R. Beecher Jr. Innovation Center Lands Additional Tenants

The Thomas R. Beecher Jr. Innovation Center on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus has scored three additional tenants – Talking Pictures, LLC; Robb Surgical Devices, LLC; and CAI Global. The companies have moved into the building’s fourth floor in the Innovation Center Suites. The three companies join numerous other start-up and emerging businesses that share resources and conveniences within the center (640 Ellicott Street).

  • Talking Pictures, LLC, a start-up that has developed Pixstori, social media mobile app that combines photographs, audio and text to share stories effortlessly through digital tools for both individuals and organizations. The company is a spin-off of Randforce Associates, LLC and recently “graduated” from the UB Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach (STOR), located on Sweet Home Road in Amherst. Four employees will be located at the Innovation Center.
  • Robb Surgical Devices, LLC, a surgical and medical device distributor and manufacturer. The company specializes in an array of medical device coating technology, clean room manufacturing, order management, fulfillment and contract packaging.  Three staff people will work out of the Innovation Center.
  • CAI Global, a New York State-based nonprofit, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of communities throughout New York State, the nation and the world. The office at the Innovation Center was established for an initiative to reduce teen pregnancy in Erie County that will be done in partnership with Erie County Department of Health, the University of Buffalo Primary Care Research Institute. It is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Adolescent Health (OAH). One employee will work at the Innovation Center office.

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
