If you love craft beer then you’re going to love the passionate duo who are behind MyCity Brew. Micro brewers Jonah Epstein and Dillon Joseph are currently in the fundraising stage that will allow them to produce the styles of beer that Buffalonians want to drink.
How do we know that? Because they’re asking people to help come up with the flavor profiles of their beers. They are orchestrating this through a series of polls that will eventually lead to the determination of a crowd favorite.
So Buffalo, what sort of brews do you want to see produced? What makes a great beer great? What haven’t we seen yet? Are you thinking about the flavor, the ingredients, the body… it will soon be time to express your thoughts so these guys can start brewing.
In order to get this brewing operation off the ground, Jonah and Dillon have launched their Kickstarter campaign, with all sorts of rewards for the funders.
Once the crowdfunding campaign is wrapped up and the preliminary poll results are in, an event will be held where a group of Buffalonians (many who supported the cause) will sample the top beer finalists. This same group of beer enthusiasts will ultimately choose a winner worthy of the title “MyCity Brew”. This is certainly a fun and interactive way to engage the community through social media and event-driven marketing efforts.
To add to the creative hype and the hometown momentum, Jonah and Dillon have started a charitable campaign that gives “1% Back for Buffalo”. They are challenging all Buffalo businesses to do the same with their profits. After all, Buffalo is the City of Good Neighbors. And as of late, Buffalo has also become a city that rallies around its growing micro brew community!
Once Buffalo beer lovers decide the beers of their choosing, MyCity Brew will commission a Buffalo brewery to create the desired beers. It’s a democratic process that will allow the community to take part in crafting their favorite local beers that will then appear at restaurants and bars throughout the region.
