Buffalo Dialysis has signed a lease to anchor Uniland Development Company’s new medical building planned for 520 Ellicott Street. Operated by DaVita Kidney Care, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc., a leading independent provider of integrated health and kidney care services in the United States. The dialysis center will encompass all 6,800 sq.ft. of the first floor. The center will include 13 stations to provide chronic renal dialysis to patients six days a week.
“We are proud to not only provide our life sustaining services to those in need but also to join the vibrant and growing health care community that is helping revitalize downtown,” said Karen Mooney, Division Vice President (DVP) for DaVita. “This partnership with Uniland is our first and we’re excited to work together to establish and enhance our impact in the community.”
Uniland will begin construction on the three-story, 23,000-square-foot building in early 2016. The building is located at the corner of Ellicott and Tupper streets on a site that was the longtime home of Frey the Wheelman.
The facility will have a glass and brick façade similar to Uniland’s Catholic Health Regional Administrative Training Center located one block east. Uniland is in discussions with potential tenants for the remaining two floors of the building that measure 7,139 sq.ft. each.
Uniland Development Co. is still planning a modern makeover of Frey’s warehouse at 505 Ellicott Street. The design has been tweaked to match the new building at 520 Ellicott. The 14,500 sq.ft. of space is being marketed to firms in the tech, creative or medical industries.
