Have you been in search for some comedic relief, in the form of a podcast? Then we have the perfect solution for you. Zach Pape, a senior media studies student at University at Buffalo is producing a series of podcasts called Overnighters. Zach and cohorts have created an audio serial that fictitiously plays out at a local supermarket. The employees (lead characters) of the market work the overnight shift and are pretty much left to their own devices. The scenarios that ensue are humorous to say the least.
“I have lived in Buffalo my whole life,” said Zach, via an email correspondence. “Although none of the events are real, the grocery store is 100% based on Budwey’s Supermarkets, as I worked there for numerous years. I think the show is a fresh breath of air to a very talk orientated world of podcasting. As of now the first 4 episodes are on iTunes and the show is currently, as I type this, ranked #106 in the general new and noteworthy section (out of well over 1,500 podcasts).”
