Elmwood Village Charter School Considers Expansion and Second Location

Do to its ever-increasing popularity, the Elmwood Village Charter School (EVCS) is considering expanding its educational offerings. A Replication Task Force has been established, which is currently seeking public input regarding the proposed expansion for grades K-8. An expansion would mean identifying a second location within the city – one that would essentially replicate the successful formula that is already in place.

At this point, the public is invited to attend a series of public meetings in order to field input, answer questions, and talk about the needs of the families that are supporting the expansion efforts.

EVCS is also accepting comments via email at or by mail at EVCS Replication Task Force, c/o EVCS, 40 Days Park, Buffalo, NY, 14201.

The public meeting schedule is as follows:

Thursday, November 12, 2015 – 6:30-7:45 p.m.
Crane Library (633 Elmwood, 14222)

Monday, November 16, 2015 – 6:00-6:45 p.m.
Gloria Parks Community Center (3242 Main St, 14214)

Tuesday, November 17, 2015 – 5-7 p.m.
CAO Masten Resource Ctr. (1423 Fillmore, 14211)

Sometimes the authors at Buffalo Rising work on collaborative efforts in order to cover various events and stories. These posts can not be attributed to one single author, as it is a combined effort. Often times a formation of a post gets started by one writer and passed along to one or more writers before completion. At times there are author attributions at the end of one of these posts. Other times, “Buffalo Rising” is simply offered up as the creator of the article. In either case, the writing is original to Buffalo Rising.
