Here we are after 4 weeks and there is still a lot of head scratching going on when discussing the discipline of this team. After thoroughly dismantling the Dolphins a week ago, the Bills came crashing down to earth (again) and they have nobody but themselves to blame after the loss to the Giants. Whenever you have failed 4th down conversions in the red-zone, flags negating TDs and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties on numerous players, you will quickly find out that it is nearly impossible to win a game. Coach Ryan can talk all he wants about building a bully but unfortunately, the refs have caught on and it doesn’t look like this Buffalo team is going to get any breaks moving forward. I have no issue with the defense (when they are not committing penalties) and Tyrod Taylor is NOT why this team has lost 2 games.
After the Patriots loss, battling for the division title went right out the window and I think it is still safe to say that Wild Card is their only hope yet again. I am excited to head down to Nashville for the Titans game and will be interested to see how the Bills handle yet another inferior opponent. Should they take care of business next Sunday, the Bills won’t have to wait too long to see if they really do belong in the playoff talk as Cinci comes to town…
The top teams do not lose at home often and as the winter months get closer, the Bills are going to have to re-establish a run game that really opens up the passing game for Tyrod. With McCoy looking like he won’t be ready for a few more weeks, let’s hope Sammy is on the mend because clearly he takes pressure off of the rest of the playmakers. The book may be out on how to neutralize the Bills’ front four, so the biggest question I have… how many QBs that the Bills face have the talent to get the ball out quickly AND accurately?
