The future of 520 Delaware Avenue

The Plaza Group is in the process of re-envisioning 520 Delaware Avenue. The building in its original state turns out to be a former Deco Restaurant. Back in the day, Decos were all the rage in Buffalo, with upwards of 50 locations throughout the city. It was a place to get cheap, yet good food. At one point, Deco restaurants were synonymous with Buffalo eating. Check out the history of Deco here.

After Deco closed, it became an Alphagraphics location. The building was purchased by Plaza Group in 2011, after sitting dormant for years. Now the real estate group is in the process of “modifying the facade”, according to the permit.

A rendering of the building was posted on the company’s website one year ago. The rendering, which could be dated by this time, was accompanied by the following description of the site:

This rendering of the future 520 Delaware Avenue, formerly “Alphagraphics”, will enhance the Allentown neighborhood within which this building is located. With Buffalo’s ever expanding medical campus only a half mile away, this location is perfect for a medical office. Situated on Buffalo’s main business corridor, Delaware Avenue, it is easy access to downtown. With parking directly next to the building, your employees and more importantly, your clientele can easily and safely park their vehicles. Don’t miss out on a glorious opportunity to locate your business within a downtown area with dedicated parking and a building with a brand new look! Call today to arrange a personal tour!
