Spooky Times in Larkinville

Larkinville is planning a couple of spooky events this Halloween season.

First, there is the final Food Truck Tuesday for the season, showcasing the popular Truck or Treat event that takes place between 5pm and 8pm. On that day, the food trucks will all have some candy to hand out to everyone that stops by. There will also be pumpkin carvings. Guests are invited to come in costume. It’s a regular fun time spooktacular that you won’t want to miss.

Following Truck or Treat, on Thursday October 29th, from 5:30 – 6:45 pm, writer Christina Abt will be making an appearance. The author will talk about her new novel Crown Hill: A Novel of Life, Love and the Afterlife. Christina will be joined by psychic Candi Thornton – the two went on a pilgrimage together, to visit a WNY house that has been referred to as “The haunted house on the hill” and “A spiritual retreat”, among other titles. Together, the two will recount stories of the house, the Western New Yorkers who lived there, and the walls that apparently do speak.

  • Candi will talk about her spiritual gift and do 10 readings from the audience
  • ‘Meet” a direct voice medium from Rochester named, Emily French, who became nationally renowned for her ability to channel the spirit of Seneca Chief, Red Jacket
  • Just for fun, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle will join the group for some international flair

“We will have full week in Halloween fun in Larkin Square with Truck or Treat on Tuesday, Oct. 27th and the after life on the 29th!,” said Larkin Square Director of Fun Leslie Zemsky. “Both events all in good fun!”

“Christina Abt has put to words what many of us have felt about our homes, that there is life imbued in the walls, capturing the love and fears of generations while projecting strength and peace to those moving through the rooms. Crown Hill is a mystery and ghost story and a tale of redemption that will keep the reader turning pages.”  – Holly Lorincz, Publishing Consultant.

Books will be available for purchase from Talking Leaves, along with beer, wine and light fare from The Filling Station. For more about Larkin Square including upcoming author talks, please visit www.larkinsquare.com.
