After polling 42,000 Americans, Influenster – “a community for social media hotshots to share news, products, and reviews” – has come up with a state-by-state chart, designating the most popular Halloween costumes in 2015. A recent article in DailyMail discusses some of the reasoning behind the choices, from the past popularity of the costumes to current societal influences.
The funny thing is, after looking at the breakdown, it might be assumed that kids must have been polled, but it turns out that adults actually comprised the study. Of course the findings allude to a number of cultural influences, many that were not very surprising when considering the state. Consider this a fun exercise in playful jest, or realistic telltale signs that demarcate who lives where and why.
It’s also interesting to see that Influenster tackled the breakdown of America’s favorite Halloween candy from state to state. How well did they do to match your sugary indulgence?
